After hearing the sad news of D'Angelo's passing last week I've put together a little interpritation of the bass part to my favourite D'Angelo track - I Found My Smile Again. This song meant a lot to me growing up even without knowing who it was. Associating it with a great film I had on VHS in the early 2000's. Heres a little aproximation & play over/through RIP D.
Using my "66" P Bass strung with La Bella White Nylon Tapewound strings, Shed HA pickups. Into my little Ampeg rig & mic's with a Beyer Dynamic M88 TG into Logic with some compression.
